7th PHILIPPEIOS ROAD RACE

The Racing Club of Veria and the Athletic Section of CAMPA of the Municipality of Veria co-organize the popular road race "7th PHILIPPEIOS ROAD RACE" of 14.600m (Vergina Archaeological Site - Aliakmonas Dam - Veria Town Hall) and the parallel races of 5000m for >15 years old, 2000m for high school kids, 1000m for elementary school kids.

The 3rd Panhellenic Law Road Race of 5km and 14.6km will be concurrently held co-organized by the Veria Bar Association, CAMPA and the Racing Club of Veria.

14.6km ROAD RACE The 3rd Panhellenic Law Road Race of 14.6km will be held at the same time

1. 14.6km Road Race Description: The race is run entirely on asphalt without significant altitude variations. It sets out from the Royal tombs of Vergina, follows the road to Veria passing through Metohi, the perimeter of Aliakmonas artificial lake, Agia Varvara, Egnatia junction, Pieria Street, Elia Park and finishes at Veria Town Hall Square.

3. Finishing Point: Veria Town Hall (Mitropoleos Str.)

4. Race Date: Sunday December 9, 2018

5. Starting TIme: 10:30 a.m.

6. Route - Timing: 14.600m (asphalt route). Electronic timing.

7. Catering: Catering stations along the route at km 5,4 (water), km 10,4 (water + isotonocs) and water at the finish line

8. Race time limit: Runners must reach the first catering station (5,4 km) in under 45 minutes and the second catering station (10,4 km) in under 90 minutes. Failure to meet race time requirements translates to runners competing at their own risk.

9. Participation eligibility: Eligible to compete are all athletes male and female over the age of 18, who agree to compete at their own risk, must have recently been cleared by a medical physician and need to sign by checking the original Solemn Declaration generated immediately after their registration is complete.
In the Law Road Race, eligible to compete are all men and women, of any age group, who are lawyers or trainee lawyers belonging to Bar Associations across the country, from Judges, Prosecutors, Clerks, Notaries, Court Officials, Court Bailiffs, to students and graduates of law schools, irrespective of where they are serving, and generally all coming from the wider area of Justice.

10. Prizes & Age categories: Prizes will be awarded to the first three (3) men and first three (3) women of the general standing, along with the respective winners of the following age categories:
Men: 18 to 34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55- 59, 60-64 & over 65
Women: 18 to 34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54 & over 55

Winners of general categories are not exempt form age categories.

A special award ceremony will take place for the first 3 male and first 3 female winners of the 3rd Panhellenic Law Road Race (profession declaration required during registration).
All runners who finish the race will receive a medal.

Prizes will also be awarded to the first 3 winning teams (clubs) on the condition that at least 6 runners of each team finish the race (6 runners will be scored). The team that scores the lowest will be announced champion. Each runner’s standing in the general ranking represent the points scored. In the event of a tie, winning team will be declared the one whose last runner, i.e. the 6th, will finish higher than the last runner of the tied team.

O money prize of 200 € will be awarded to the 1st runner to achieve a route record, currently held by Stamoulis Konstantinos - 49’13’’.

11. Special Award for Armed Forces – Law Enforcement: The first three male and first three female winners belonging to the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement will also be awarded (profession declaration required during registration).

12. Commemorative gifts: All runners who finish the race will be given a bag containing a medal, a training calendar, and water and food products.

13. Transportation: Runners will be transported to Vergina on Sunday morning from 8:30am till 9:15am from Elia square with buses provided by the organizers. The buses will not be returning to Vergina after the race.

14. Pick-up of registration numbers: Athletes will pick up their registration numbers on Sunday 9/12 at the Start (in front of the Roof of the Royal Tombs of Vergina) between 8:30am
and 10:00am, but also Saturday 8/12 at 19:00 and 21:00 at the ground floor of Veria Town Hall.

15. Delivery and receipt of personal effects: Delivery of personal belongings of athletes will take place until 10:15am at a vehicle situated at the Starting line. Receipt will be carried out at the Finish line at the Veria Town Hall square.

16. Changing rooms – Doctor's office: Changing rooms and a doctor's office can be found at the end of the Town Hall Square. There will be a Doctor present at the start, route and finish of the course, provided by the Racing Club of Veria.

17. Award time: Prize awards will take place at 12:00am

5000m race for >15 years old The 3rd Panhellenic Law Road Race of 5km will be held at the same time

1. Starting point: Veria Town Hall

2. Finishing point: Veria Town Hall

3. Race date: Saturday December 8, 2018

4 Starting time: 06:35 p.m.

5. Route: The route followed by the runners will be: 3 laps by 1670m.: Town Hall, down Mitropoleos Street, Venizelou Street, left turn to Malakousi Street (Aghios Antonios), left turn to the Main until Orologio square and left turn down Mitropoleos Street to the Finish at Veria Town Hall.

6. Timing 5000m.: Electronic timing.

7. Participation eligibility: Eligible to compete are all athletes male and female over the age of 15, who agree to compete at their own risk, must have recently been cleared by a medical physician and need to sign by checking the original Solemn Declaration generated immediately after their registration is complete. For ages from 15 to 17 years old parental consent is required which must appear on the Solemn Declaration signed by the parent.

8. Pick-up of registration numbers: Athletes will pick up their registration numbers on Saturday 8/12 at the Start (Veria Town Hall) between 16:00 and 17:30.

9. Prizes 5km: Trophies and diplomas will be given to the first three (3) of the Men’s category and first three (3) of the Women’s category. The Award ceremony will take place on Sunday after 12:00pm

    •  Racing Club of Veria Party: The Racing Club of Veria will be hosting a party following the end of the race at cafe Mcoza.
