OFFICIAL EVENT

The OKA VIKELAS and the Association of Sports Clubs of Central Macedonia (EAS SEGAS) in co-organization with the Committee for the Administration of the National Ski Center of Seliou, the Department of Sports KAPAA. of Veria Municipality, Veria's Chamber of Commerce and Veroia Association of Drivers announce the mountain race "Seli mountain running 24,4km & Vertical race 1,5km" on Saturday 24th of August and Sunday 25th of August. At the same time, there will be other kinds of sporting happenings such as 1.3 km (cadet), 2.2 km (juniors) and 5.5 km long race in the area of the Ski Center.

The event is under the support of the Ski Helicopter Association, the Seli Cultural and Tourist Group, the LEMOB, the motors Sports Team (Riverenduro), the Macrohori Association "DIFFITO", the ERVAN, the CSO Kallithea Veria and the Disaster Response Team Of Kalamaria

RACE: Seli mountain running 24,4km
Route description Seli mountain running 24.4 km:
The race is 24.4 km with a positive altitude 1123m. The race will start at the base of the ski center at an altitude of 1500m and the runners will initially be heading for a short slope of 400m in length to go straight after a 900m high uphill at the forest crossing for Vermias saws at an altitude of 1660m. There will be routes in paths with uphill gradients most of the time traces of the E4 path. The runners will reach Vermio's "saws" area (where it is also the lowest altitude 1150m) and will continue on a special route running continuously uphill to return from the sidewalks of the fire zone-uphill - to reach the highest point 1775m (base of an old chair) and then headed off a steep downhill through a closed forest path towards the finish (ski base). All the run will be done in the shade of the beech trees and the towering pine trees of Vermia except a small part from 19.2km to 22.7km that touch the top of the ski slopes, compensating the runners with a wonderful alpine landscape.

SUPPORT STATIONS: On the way there will be power stations: 1st Station at 4.5kmNew, 2nd Station at 8.4km (water + isotonic + raisins, fruit, crackers), 3rd Station at 13km (water + saltstick), 4th Station 18km (water + isotonic + raisins, fruit, crackers), 5th Station at 22.5km (water + candies + in the water ending.
* Power stations will also be control points. Athletes are obliged to have their number in a prominent place so that the judges can record them. If an athlete carries the number under clothes, he or she must arrive at the control station to show his number. I case that the athlete refuses to show his number that means exclusion.

Eligibility: All athletes aged over 18 who will run under their own responsibility and have recently had to be examined by a doctor will be eligible to sign and will check by ticking the original responsible statement that will appear immediately after the registration in the registration form.
EXCLUSIVE RESPONSIBILITY: runners must have been examined by a physician prior to their participation due to the particularity of the race. No medical attestations will be required for any athlete, since all participants are at their own sole responsibility and minors under the responsibility of their guardians.

Age categories & prizes: The three (3) first men and three (3) first women in the overall classification, as well as the corresponding age group winners, will be awarded as follows:
For men: 18 to 34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55- 59, 60-64 & 65 and over
For women: 18 to 34.35-44, 45-54, & 55 and above.
Prizes will also be awarded to the first 3 winning teams (clubs) provided that at least 5 runners from each team have finished (5 runners will be scored). A winning team will be the one to score the lowest points. The order of the overall ranking of each runner will be the points that he / she will accumulate. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the team whose last runner, ie the 6th, will be better ranked than the last of the tie.
All runners who finish will receive a medal.
Winners of the general category are not excluded from the age group.
A cash prize of 200 euros will be awarded to the first runner-up winner and the cash prize of 200 euros to the first woman.
Commemorative gifts: Terminals will be given a technical t-shirt.

RACE : Vertical Race 1250m
Route Description: The Race is 1250m. at an altitude of 240m. The start of the race will be at the base of the ski resort at an altitude of 1500m. and the runners will head straight through the central "Olympiada", leading to the top of an old chair at an altitude of 1740m. Throughout Vertical, the ski chairs will work for free, giving viewers the opportunity to watch the uphill race of 1250m. but also to ensure the return of the runners to the Base.

RACE: Mountain Trail 5.5km
Route description Mountain Trail 5,5km: The race is 5.5km with a positive altitude of 202m. The start of the race will be at the base of the ski center at an altitude of 1500m and the runners will initially be driven by a short slope of 400m downhill to exit immediately after a 900m high uphill at the forest crossing for the Vermio saws at an altitude of 1666m on footpaths with uphill slopes and headed towards the firepark uphill, immediately after about 2 km of moderate slope and the last 1600m downhill through a closed forest path to the finish (ski base). All the jogging will be done in the shade of the beech trees' leaves and the towering pine forests of Vermio.

RACE: Kid’s trail (6-12 years old), 1300m
Route description 1300 trail: The race is 1300m. with minor altitude differences at the Langlauf circuit, in the ski area base. The young runners will run the track only 1 time.

Entry fee: Primary pupils from 6 to 12 years of age have the right to participate. The participation of primary school students will be free of charge.
Entries: Entries will take place on Saturday 24/8 from 16:30 until 19:30 at the Registry of the race and Sunday 25/8 morning from 7:30 am to 9:00 am.Parents will register it.
A responsible statement that "I allow my son / daughter to participate in the 1300m race and that the child has been examined recently by a doctor" will be signed by the guardian on the day of receipt of the child's attendance number.
Student prizes: The first three and the first three of the boys and girls will be awarded medals and diplomas.

Eligibility: Children aged 13 to 15 are eligible to participate in the Gymnasium classes.
Entries: Entries will take place on Saturday 24/8 from 16:30 until 19:30 at the Registry of the race and Sunday 25/8 morning from 7:30 am to 9:00 am. Parents will register it.
The participation of the students of the Gymnasium will be free of charge.

Pasta party: On Saturday night 24/8 after the afternoon races will follow pasta party. The pasta party will take place immediately after the vertical at Vermio Chalet, which is right in front of the start and finish of the races.
Buffet with food at the end of the 24.4 km race on Sunday 25 August. Buffet with various foods (pies - cheese products - snacks - halva, fruits and various other food products) will wait for the runners to finish to give them the lost energy.
Team and Club Booths: The event will allow teams and clubs to set up their kiosks to promote their work or races at a specific point near the start. And just to keep the runners' clothes worthwhile. Teams and clubs that decide to set up kiosks should declare it at the event 10 days earlier, ie by August 16

TECHNICAL PROVISIONS
GENERAL: Athletes are required to fully respect the regulations outlined below. They are also obliged to obey the instructions of the match judges. Non-compliance with regulations or guidelines always results in the exclusion penalty. The judges of the struggle when they perceive violations of the regulations, record and inform the offenders. Any other authorized person from the event could record also any violation he or she becomes aware of and submit it for review to the Match Committee.
ATHLETE NUMBER: Each athlete has the bib number on it, which he is obliged to have on a prominent point on the front of his jersey. The number must remain throughout the race without being folded, thus hiding any item on the number (sponsors, logos, etc.). Substantial alteration of the number, which may cause confusion to the station managers, is punishable by exclusion. TRAVEL MARKING: The marking of the route placed by the Tournament is temporary in order to serve the athletes and after the race will be removed part of them like the ribbons and will remain the basic marking to permanently demarcate a recognized path.
EXTERNAL HELP: External material assistance (food, clothing, backpack) is permitted to athletes. Athletes may be escorted by persons who do not have a race number. The athlete's escort from intimate persons to the last steps of the route is permitted.
AUXILIARY INSTRUMENTS: It is permissible to use walking sticks. It also allows the possession and use of a map, compass, GPS, mobile phone or radio (VHF). If someone gets lost in the forest the number 112 is what will help in finding it. That's why it's good to have your phone with you
WASTE: It is strictly forbidden to dispose of all kinds of objects along the route, such as plastic bottles or any other solid or liquid food packaging material consumed by athletes during the race. At each feed station there is a special plastic waste bag. All athletes are required to throw scrap in the bag. Disposal of packaging materials or other non-organic waste at any point in the route beyond the predefined will result in a foreclosure penalty. The event will place 100m after feedstocks and other judging bins to give runners the chance to run and not stop at stations, but they must throw away plastic bottles or rubbish from possible use of Gel or anything else garbage.
MOVEMENT IN THE PATH: Athletes are obliged to move on the path without forming groups that extend in width, thus preventing athletes who would like to overtake. When an athlete is notified that he should make aside to overcome, he should remain on the upstream side of the slope.
ROUTE CLEARANCE: The shortening of the route is prohibited and is punishable by blocking. Each competitor has the responsibility and is required to carefully monitor the alerts on specific sections of the trail showing a prohibited cut / route.
PROTESTS: Any objections for any reason are made only by the athlete himself, at the latest 30 minutes after the finish.
MODIFICATION OF THE ROUTE / SUSPENSION: If necessary (exceptionally dangerous weather conditions), the Organizers reserve the right to modify the trip or to postpone the start for a short period of time in order not to endanger the athletes' physical integrity.
DISCLAIMER: The Commission is not responsible for the death, injury or any damage to the health of the competitors who, by submitting the application form, state that they are aware of the dangers in the mountain environment and that their health is good and allows them to fight, and has recently been examined by a doctor for this issue.
